I SHALL RESIST
It
worries me a lot that this government has taken for granted the future of those
who are to Where I come from selling
jubilee propaganda is like walking naked uncircumcised. I will call it a big sin.
Let me first save myself before continuing writing this article. I am a
Nasarite, a resister an antiuhuru, and of course a member of the biggest political
party in Kenya ODM. Jubilee is a disease in this part of the world. It is
killing our country, look at the economy, the level of an employment, the
corruption that has been eating us ever since. You would wish to run away from
this country and not in any way associate yourself with it but then you are the
one supposed to salvage it from its problems. Am a student, an economics
student, joined university in September of 2015. I was to graduate on December
2019 but then the surety of that date has been declining ever since. The on and
off lecturers strike is not something to joke about and being taken for granted
just like the government is doing. Engineering students have now been reduced
to mechanics, Law students are those guys you see in bodaboda sheds clad in old,
oversize black suits analyzing politics with bodabodas who probably are
education students.
save this country from this stalemate that it is already in.
It worries me that nurses had to go on strike for over 150 days so that their
cry may be heard, people died! Do lecturers have to go for a longer period than
that so their cry may be heard? It pains. Whenever I say RESIST it is not from
my mouth, it from deep down my heart. I hate a government that orders militia
in the name of police to go and kill people just because they aren’t from their
political backyard. I hate to see to government that practices selective
justice just because the other accused is not from their clan. I am glad we
never had a repeat of what happened in 2007. You all know who brewed the
violence back then and I gauze you know the one man who saved this country
after the August 8th election.
I write
this as a loyal member of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) and a never
stopping follower of the National Super Alliance. If we can’t have
what we are asking for (Free fair
and credible elections ) then there is
no point of us staying in a relationship not worth dying for. We have more than
enough professionals who can help in building a worthy nation. We can produce
our own milk, plant our own sisal, build our own schools, harvest our own
water, irrigate our own rice and even export
our own fish. We will have a government not selective of justice, a
government with full employment, a government with stable economy and ever
improving GDP. I am a resister and I will resist whatever needs to be resisted.
I will resist products from companies whose intentions are oppressing the poor
and supporting a regime that does not represent the desires of the common
mwananchi.
All we
will be praying for is a peaceful transition from the oppressive regime to our
own independent state. We will call it The People’s Republic of Kenya. I pray
that in our country we will have serious cabinet secretaries interested in the
welfare and development of the common mwananchi and not malicious intentions of
creating wealth for themselves and moving around in big government automobiles.
We would not want a regime where the level of poverty supersedes the level of
richness. I wish for fairness across all the tribes. Marginalization will be a
thing of the past, our cows will never be auctioned at the watch of the
government, our fishermen will never be arrested for fishing abroad. That will
be my country, The People’s Republic of Kenya.
